The Presidio Trust is seeking a Utilities Worker who will support the Utilities Department. Reporting to the Utilities Supervisor, the Utilities Worker will assist in the daily operations and maintenance tasks within the Presidio Utility Department to include the Wastewater and High Voltage teams. The Utilities Worker will work under the guidance of the Wastewater Supervisor, journeyman Utility Plumbers, and journeyman High Voltage Technicians to maintain the various components of the Wastewater and High Voltage systems.

This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting at $31.78 per hour, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is included in a bargaining unit, specifically the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 792, United Public Employees of California. Responsibilities

• Operate sewer cleaning equipment including high pressure hydro jetters, vacuum truck, snake machines, video pipeline inspection cameras.
• Excavating and repairing sewer & storm pipes by hand and with various hand and power tools.
• Removing, replacing and assembling sewer and storm drainage pipes and fittings
• Providing assistance during water breaks and excavations
• Exercising water valves
• Assisting with meter replacements
• Installing and replacing water meter boxes, valve boxes, vaults.
• Performing various groundman work to assist with overhead work operations
• Installing and replacing streetlight boxes
• Installing underground conduits
• Delivering necessary parts and equipment to worksites as needed
• Maintaining equipment and tools in good working order
• Keeping work trucks stocked and clean
• Keeping storage and work areas clean and organized
• Loading/unloading trucks with items needed for overhead work
• Use Yardi work order system to track labor hours and input necessary job information
• Attend trade and general training sessions regularly to advance skills, knowledge and understanding of utility and construction trades

• Basic understanding of utility systems and how they operate including:
  • Sanitary systems
  • Stormwater systems
  • Electrical Distribution systems
  • Water Distribution systems
  • Communication system
  • Natural gas systems
