Project Coordinator

Department: PUBLIC SAFETY

The Presidio Trust is seeking a Project Coordinator who will support the Department of Public Safety. The Presidio Trust is an innovative federal agency that stewards and shares the history, beauty, and wonder of the Presidio for everyone to enjoy forever. Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, the Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Presidio Trust Public Safety Department. This position is responsible for providing high-level administrative, logistical, and programmatic support across three primary program areas: Emergency Management, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), and Environmental Protection.

The role emphasizes operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of critical recurring tasks. The coordinator applies proven experience in logistics management, project tracking, program administration, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure seamless support of departmental priorities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of working with local, state and federal agencies, strong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving ability, and experience managing large-scale inventories, budgets, and supply chains in fast-paced environments.


This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting at $95,732, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is included in a bargaining unit, specifically the Laborer’s International Union of North America, Local 792, United Public Employees of California. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute emergency management plans, training schedules, and hazard mitigation tasks.
  • Maintain digital systems for training records, plan archives, and controlled document tracking for EM, OSH, and Environmental programs.
  • Track and support reporting requirements for regulatory, programmatic, or internal benchmarks.
  • Lead the tracking, restocking, and lifecycle management of emergency supplies, PPE, and operational equipment.
  • Manage vendor relationships, oversee ordering, and ensure readiness of mission-critical materials.
  • Support project management tasks, including key performance indicators and contract agency goals.
  • Maintain and organize records for inspections, budget documents, and supply inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention schedules and assist with audit preparation.
  • Prepare draft reports, data summaries, and compliance logs for departmental programs.
  • Manage and update databases, spreadsheets, and collaborative tools (Microsoft Office, Genysis, SharePoint and Arc GIS).
  • Support technology-enabled safety initiatives, including digital inspection systems and document-sharing platforms.
  • Assist with coordination of community education, stakeholder briefings, and internal training events.
  • Provide logistical and clerical support for emergency drills, after-action reviews, and corrective action tracking.
  • Support incident response by coordinating information flow, logistics, or documentation needs.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and training materials for departmental operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and three (3) years demonstrated experience in program coordination, logistics management, or emergency management support OR five (5) years demonstrated experience in program coordination, logistics management, or emergency management support.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale inventory systems, supply procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects in high-tempo environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and digital file management systems.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to draft reports, create tracking documents, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Valid California Driver License

Required Certifications

  • ICS 100 – Introduction to the Incident Command System
  • ICS 200 – Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
  • ICS 700 – National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction
  • ICS 800 – National Response Framework, An Introduction

Desired Qualifications

  • A passion for the mission and values of the Presidio Trust.
  • Prior experience supporting procurement and maintenance of public safety or emergency response equipment.
  • Background in logistics, compliance tracking, or environmental program support.
  • Experience managing training schedules, credentialing logs, or compliance calendars.
  • Familiarity with FEMA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and related public safety and environmental standards.
  • Experience coordinating projects in collaboration with contractors, vendors, and community partners.

Background Check

The Presidio Trust has identified this position as subject to an employment background check which shall consist of a review of applicable county, state and Federal criminal and civil records, state bankruptcy indexes, and driver’s license.
